Flower Pot Tin

Hopefully Blogger is done doing their maintenance and I can upload more than one picture tonight.

This project started out with a tin that I found at the thrift store. It used to be a popcorn tin so I like how big it is.

My sweet husband tapped some holes in the bottom with a nail and hammer so that the extra water can get through. Easy peasy!!

I filled the bottom third or so with potting soil.

Then I added some flowers and topped it off with more dirt.

As you can see I turned the lid over and sat the tin inside to catch the extra water. Yes, it is going to rust and I will probably have to throw it away...eventually. This was picture was taken about two weeks ago. The flowers are doing really well in it. Do you notice our balcony area that is two different colors? Yeah, didn't quite get that finished before it got too cold out last year. Painting that is number one on my list whenever we have free time.
